The A/P Staff Council Standing Committees for 2023-2024 are:
Committee on Committees
Members of this committee seek volunteers to serve on university-wide committees. These committees include both permanent committees, such as the Judicial Review Board, as well as temporary committees, such as search committees. Committee members recommend A/P staff to serve on the committees and those recommendations are presented to the A/P Council for approval.
Constituency Relations Committee
Members of this committee plan at least two general constituency meetings each year. One of these meetings is held to honor the recipients of the two Excellence Through Commitment Outstanding A/P Staff Awards. Members of this committee also serve as a liaison with the A/P constituency at large, representing their opinions and concerns.
Operating Paper Committee
Members of this committee ensure that the operating paper is current and accurately reflects the organizational purpose, structure and processes of the Council. When revisions are proposed, members of this committee formalize the changes and distribute the proposed changes to all A/P Staff for their consideration and vote.
Staff Benefits & Welfare Committee
The Committee shall monitor policies and procedures regarding position classifications, salary, performance evaluations, terms and conditions of employment, term vs. continuing appointments, insurance, retirement and other administrative/professional benefits issues; be responsible for review and approval of those materials published either in handbooks or other such compilations affecting the benefits of administrative/professional staff, for the purpose of providing current and accurate information about and to the constituency; review other staff benefits issues as assigned by the chair. The Committee shall monitor policies, procedures and issues regarding affirmative action, professional development, staff morale, and other welfare issues as may affect the constituency; initiate and review amendments or revisions to the Grievance Procedure for administrative/professional staff. A member of this Committee shall serve on the Judicial Review Board (JRB) and shall oversee the JRB training process.
